For a trekking tour adventure in India, one should be prepared with all necessities of trek and pack accordingly. We have given some tips to follow for a successful Hampta Pass trekking adventure near Manali.
Make sure to carry trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Bring three layers of warm clothes, including fleece jackets and a padded jacket. Pack two or three pairs of light cotton trek pants. Carry two or three full-sleeved t-shirts, preferably collared or dry-fit, to prevent sunburn on your neck and arms. Include one or two dry-fit t-shirts. Don't forget thermals as they will help you stay warm in cold weather. Take sunglasses to protect your eyes from excess sunlight reflection off the snow. It can get quite cold, so ensure you have a proper woollen cap. Bring waterproof gloves to keep your hands dry; avoid woollen gloves as they can get wet if you touch snow. It's essential to carry a headlamp or torch for visibility during the trek. At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are common, so it's mandatory to have a poncho to stay dry. The trek will continue even during rainfall. Consider carrying a personal lunch box and water bottle, as you will be provided with lunch daily that you need to carry and eat along the way.
Avoid carrying bulky cameras and equipment; it can be challenging to trek with heavy gear throughout the day. Instead, take pictures with your phone and enjoy the moments.
