For trekking in India, you should be prepared with all necessities of trek and pack accordingly. We have given some tips to follow for a successful Hampta Pass trekking near Manali.

Day 1: Manali-Jorba Village-Trek from Jobra to Chika
The Trek starts in Manali. Meet with the representative in Manali form where you will drive to Jobra Village- the base of trek. You can plan adventure trip in Manali to take part in various adventure sports as Manali is home to several adventure sports such as skiing, and paragliding. Your trek leader will provide you with information about the trail and other important details.
Begin your journey from Jobra to Chika for a trek distance of 2.5 KM, along the banks of the Rani Nallah, a small river, with green meadows, pine forests, Dhauladhar mountain view all around. It will take 2-3 hours to reach Chika as per your speed. Upon arrival check in at your campsite for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera
Next day, prepare for your trek to Balu ka Ghera which is 6 km approx. Today's trek is a bit longer and involves energy to complete. Begin your trek early in the morning towards Balu ka Ghera which will gradually gain elevation. While walking, you will notice a change in the landscape from snowy to mountainous. On your trek journey, you can come across a few river crossings. Finally, you will reach your destination and check in your campsite where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Hampta Pass to Siagoru
Highlight of Day 3 of Hampta trekking package is crossing Hampta Pass, which is the main attraction of the trek. Make a quick stop at Hampta village, from which the pass gets its name, and then begin your descent from Hampta Pass towards Siagoru at an altitude of 12,900 feet. After reaching the Siagoru campsite, stay in camp here.
Leave the campsite at Balu ka Ghera and head towards peak. Trek in the beginning can be challenging with steep height. Finally, reach the campsite at Siagoru.
Day 4: Siagoru to Chatru
On 4th day of trek, come down towards Chatru where three paths come together - Hampta Pass, Spiti, and Rohtang Pass. Once you arrive at Chatru, meet our trek representative who will take you to Chandrataal Lake. Afterwards, return to Chatru where you will stay overnight.
Day 5: Departure
Start your day early because there is a long drive ahead. After breakfast, begin your drive back to Manali from base camp. One of the highlights of the return trip is the Atal Tunnel, which holds the record as the world's longest highway tunnel at an elevation of 10,040 feet. The trek will end in Manali.

Manali to Hampta Pass distance is 35 Km approx. At first, reach Jobra Village from Manali as the Trek Route begins from Jobra Village for a hike towards Chika. Find How to Reach Manali and start your Hampta Pass Trek. Jobra Village is very charming surrounded with dense oak trees and flowers. The next day, start hiking towards Balu ka Ghera situated amidst the alpine meadows and surrounded by the gigantic peaks all around. Finally, reach your destination- Hampta Pass, situated at an altitude of 14,000 ft. After exploring the remote village of Hampta, proceed to descend towards Chatru which is one of the main highlights of the trek. It is the junction point of the roads to Spiti Valley, Rohtang Pass and Hampta Pass.
Difficulty level of Hampta pass trek is moderate, but still it needs some good preparation to go for this famous Trekking Tour in Himachal. Make sure to carry trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support. Bring warm clothes, including fleece jackets and a padded jacket. Pack two or three pairs of light cotton trek pants. Carry two or three full-sleeved tshirts, preferably collared or dry fit, to prevent sunburn on your neck and arms. Include one or two dry-fit t-shirts. Do not forget thermals as they will help you stay warm in cold weather. Take sunglasses to protect your eyes from excess sunlight reflection off the snow. It can get quite cold, so ensure you have a proper woollen cap. Bring waterproof gloves to keep your hands dry; avoid woollen gloves as they can get wet if you touch snow. It is essential to carry a headlamp or torch for visibility during the trek. You can also receive rainfall during trek, so must carry umbrella and raincoat. Carry a lunch box and water bottle to stay energetic.
The trek path remains covered in snow during winter months till April-May, although you can go for trekking if it is operational. Mid-June to October months is best time for Hampta Pass Trek. June is Best Time to Visit Manali and Hampta pass for cold weather but see snow. During monsoon season, you will receive good rainfall and blooming flowers all around.
