Hello Everyone! Today I am going to share a lovely story of my Himachal trip that I have recently experienced with all my office colleagues in December. It was amazing, fantabulous, and mind-blowing. The winter trail of Jibhi and Tirthan valley tour was planned on long weekend of Christmas with all girls and that too with strange group. Are you excited too to know more about the things we have experienced on this trip?
Jibhi and Tirthan Valley Tour from Delhi
Our adventure began with a spontaneous decision after stumbling upon an enticing Instagram ad. A 2-night/3-day girls’ trip to Jibhi and Tirthan Valley was the plan, and we, a group of 25 enthusiastic girls, were ready for the escapade. The initial point of trip was departure from Majnu ka Tila and our journey of Jibhi and Tirthan Valley tour from Delhi commenced with 27 seater Bus with Radhika as our guide. We have taken approval from our office HR for half an hour early off and hurried to catch our bus. The backpacks and lovely weather outside were fueling us for a great trip ahead.
Day 1 or can say Night: A Night Full of Songs and Stories
Our departure from Majnu ka Tila at 8 pm set the tone for the trip. The first stop was Mannat Haweli- best restaurant on route of Delhi to Chandigarh-Jibhi. Here all of us relished a delightful dinner not included in the tour package. The journey was filled with laughter, songs, and 2-3 tea breaks overnight. By 9:30 am, we reached our lakeside stay named Shiva Valley- a beautiful hotel. The rooms offered a picturesque view of snow-ladden mountains and valleys. We took a sigh after long journey and after freshening up and breakfast, we set off for our first sightseeing destination – Bhumasi Temple and Sunset Point at Alwa. The drowning Sun glimpses reflecting on snow was giving a beautiful view of surroundings. Capturing moments in the snow, we witnessed a serene sunset before heading back to our hotel. The night was spent enjoying a delicious dinner by the bonfire, playing games, and sharing stories with newfound friends.
Day 2: Trekking Adventure in Jalori Pass
The second day was dedicated to a thrilling trek covering Jalori Pass, Serolsar Lake, and Tungasi Dhar – a total of 6 km.
A Delightful trek to Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake
It was bitterly cold and snowing at Jalori Pass and that made this trip more adventurous than one! It felt totally worth it when we were the first to walk in the snow and open the gates to walk around Serolsar Lake and see the whiteout at Budhi Nagin Temple. Jalori Pass is situated at an altitude of 10,800 feet (3,120 meters) above sea level. The area around Jalori Pass is rich in biodiversity, with dense forests of oak, pine, and cedar trees. Here you can spot various species of birds and occasionally wildlife like Himalayan deer or even bears. Visit Mahakali temple also known as jalori mata, worshipped by natives of local villages. Trek to Serolsar lake begins from Jalori pass and a moderate trek that takes 2-3 hours one way. Dense forest and alpine meadows will welcome you through out the way.
The trek was an unforgettable adventure, especially the midnight trek through the jungle, marking my first such experience. Returning to our homestays, we celebrated Christmas Eve by the lakeside with a bonfire, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Day 3: Exploring Jibhi and Tirthan Valley
On our final day, we explored Jibhi’s mesmerizing sights, including waterfalls and the charming Mini Thailand. Indulging in local delights like momos and siddu added a flavorful touch to our journey. As the evening approached, we said goodbye to the picturesque landscapes and began our journey back to Delhi.
Our girls trip to Jibhi and Tirthan Valley was an exhilarating mix of adventure, fun together and picturesque landscapes. The memories created during those three days will forever hold a special place in our hearts, reminding us of the beauty of spontaneous journeys and the joy of exploring new horizons with like-minded companions.

Some Useful Tips for Jalori Pass Trek
Although we have taken the trek, you can also reach Jalori pass by car or bus. Take a window seat and enjoy the 1 hour drive from window of your bus seat breathing fresh air. To reach Serolsar Lake from Jalori Pass, there are two main trekking routes. One option is to take the Banjar Road, which leads into the forest and eventually reaches Serolsar Lake. The other route begins from the temple located near the Jalori Pass market. During our journey, we opted for the latter, starting our trek from the temple.
Before embarking on the trek, it is crucial to ensure that you have an ample of water to stay hydrated along the way, as well as some snacks to keep your energy levels up. There is only one shop near the lake, and its operating hours can be unpredictable, so it is wise to prepare as if there would not be any available provisions on the trail. By taking precautions and adequately equipping yourself for the journey, including carrying enough water and snacks, you can ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable trekking experience to Serolsar Lake from Jalori Pass.
