Address: Barog Railway Tunnel 33
Tunnel 33, on the Shimla-Kalka railway line, is one of the line’s longest tunnels, and is also its most ghostly. Also known as the Barog Tunnel, it was named after a British engineer, Colonel Barog. It was built in 1990s. However, the Colonel made an error when aligning the tunnel. Mistake done by his supervisors humiliated and penalized the Colonel, because of this incident he shot himself in despair inside the tunnel. During the British period, a coachman (whose name has not been recorded) lived in the area near the school. He was quite promiscuous with his romantic ventures but one night, got into a fight and lost his head. People assume them as riding on horses. The coachman picks the most beautiful girl in the campus and leaves a rose on her pillow, asking her to marry him. If the girl agrees, within 24 hours, he carries her away. If she refuses, she dies. Another popular myth is of a little girl who requests for her doll on dark nights. As per reports, girl burnt out in school fire in 1946. Tragically, the school witnessed another death in 2012, when two students were discovered dead in the school. And some believe that their spirits roam the building.

House of Dukhani

The story is dated back to the colonial era, when an old man shot himself dead in this house. After that, the ghost of an old man is roaming around in the house wearing the same white gown that he was wearing during the suicide. This story gets more hyped because, Sir John Smith—one of the guests at Dukhani, narrated the same story about that roaming white gown old man, from his experience and numerous reports of ghostly figures and scary noises by the local people.
